Her catchy and original music is entertaining, and soulful.
Nancy has been writing music all her life, since before age 10, and has produced 16 recordings of original music and lyrics since 1980. Nancy has toured in concert in 39 of the 50 states in concert as a solo artist in concert halls, for national and international conferences, festivals and travels to perform for special occasions. Nancy has also been recognized nationally for her contributions with her music, to the healing of those recovering from abuse and assault, in her collection of songs, Survivor.
Nancy Day’s melodies are irresistible and memorable, you’ll find yourself singing her tunes as you leave her performances and long after her concerts. And as prolific and passionate poet, Nancy’s lyrics stand alone.“Nancy Day is an “All in One” performer. Her voice is lovely and she has a magical stage presence, interpreting the lyrics clearly and profoundly. Her songs are mature and logical with beautiful and memorable melodic phrases as in the old standards. Her piano expertise is equally magical. It is a pleasure to share the stage with her.” Herb Mickman- formally musical director for Sarah Vaughan
In her concerts you will hear a wide array of music…everything from country, jazz and ragtime to musical theater and entrancing love songs. Nancy also, in every performance, writes a song in the moment improvising from information she gathers from the audience! And even these instantaneous songs are hits in themselves!
She does not hide behind her work. Nancy’s presence is engaging, humorous, loving and contageous. You will become a part of the experience as she shares her stories and she becomes a friend you have wanted to meet for a long time. People have a hard time leaving after the show because they are invigorated and inspired. Nancy can turn even the largest concert hall into her own living room and still keep an impeccable sense of class.
She sings solo accompanying herself on piano and guitar, or with her band or jazz trio. You will be mesmerized by her professionalism and courageous vitality. Whether hearing her in concert, on a priceless recording, or private party, wedding or event, life is too short to miss Nancy Day.
